I grew up the eastside streets of San Antonio. A normal day for me was a fight a day. I was raised in housing. I got into boxing just to learn how to throw down (sometimes against bigger opponents). I had to hustle just make ends meet (if you know what I mean). I remember this handicapped kid whose parents were crack heads. They would use his checks to pay for their drug habits. This hit me hard and I stopped. Later, I moved to a new high school (Sam Houston High). This is where I was exposed to the hip hop culture. It was everywhere. There were girls rappin, fellas rappin, people who didn't have no business rappin were doin it. I felt this is what I was missing, so I started writing. Soon after this I joined my first rap group, before this I was solo. We were good and we produced and sold our own material on the streets. You could say we started a buzz in San Antonio. Unfortunately, in the music industry you have to have the right connections, talent alone ain't gonna cut it. I never idolized one particular person. I just loved the whole hip hop vibe. This included the cloths, the music, and the groupies. My family plays a big part in my decision to continue and pursue my music career. For those who are in my line of work you have to stay focused and stay away from substances and people who will bring you down. Always put God first and surround yourself with positive things and you stand a better chance of achieving your goals.
